Tree & Shrub Pruning
Pruned to Grow. Not Just Cut Back.
Deadwood out, canopy lifted so light reaches what is underneath, and cuts made at the collar where the tree can seal them. We do not top trees, because a topped tree needs cutting again every year after.
Only fronds that are fully brown come off. Cutting green fronds to get a tidier shape starves the palm and leaves it weaker in a storm. This is the most common damage we are asked to undo.
Shaped before they crowd the bed or cover a window, cut to keep a wider base than top so light reaches the bottom and it does not go bare underneath.
Most of it is fine year round here, but heavy work is better done outside the wettest months when cuts are slower to seal.
How many, how big, and how much has to be hauled. Debris removal is included, and it is a real part of the job on an overgrown property.
Pruning explained
What separates pruning a tree from just making it smaller?
How it works
How we prune your trees and shrubs.
1.
We walk the yard
We look at every tree and shrub with you and agree on what gets cut, and why.
2.
Mark the cuts
Pruning to structure gets decided before the saw starts. No topping, ever.
3.
Prune to the plan
Clean cuts at the collar, shaped to grow, sized for the space it is in.
4.
Haul-off and cleanup
Every branch and clipping leaves with us, and the beds get raked before we go.
