Florida gives you a longer list than most places and a shorter margin for error. We plant palms, flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses and ground cover that hold up to full sun, sandy soil and a wet season, and we group them by how much water they actually want.

A bed line is the thing your eye follows, so it gets cut deliberately rather than mown around. Hard edges along walks and drives, gentle curves through open lawn, and a spade edge that holds its shape between visits.

Mulch is not decoration. It holds moisture, keeps soil temperature steady and stops weeds getting a start. Two to three inches, kept off the trunks, topped up rather than piled higher each year.

Square footage, how much has to come out before anything goes in, and plant size at install. Larger plants cost more and look finished sooner. We will tell you where that trade is worth making.
